A Word on Banners
There are three different sizes of banners we use to promote featured events on Ustream:
For all banners, Ustream automatically places a semi-transparent overlay at 40 or 120 pixels high (overlays roughly 1/4 of the bottom part of the banner) that includes the event date and time pulled from the event scheduled in the channel by the channel owner, so keep this area clear and do not include your event date and time in the graphic itself.
See below for exact dimensions and safe design area for all three banner sizes
Landscape Banner on Ustream site
300 x 165 JPEG or PNG.
Landscape Mobile App Banner
894 x 489 JPG or PNG with a 120 pixel high text overlay on the bottom.
If you want to save yourself some time on the landscape banners, you can create just this banner and it will scale down appropriately to the smaller landscape size we use on the site.
Portrait Mobile App Banner
640 x 734 JPG or PNG with 136 pixel high text overlay on the bottom.
Do's and Don'ts:
Good vs. Bad Banners
The Good:
Good branding, clean, sharp images
The Bad (Don't try this at home):
Low-resolution image, bad text integration
Do you want to change your password? Or your email address? Watch our tutorial to find out how!
How to change your password:
Social Connections lets you log in with social network such as Facebook, find your Facebook friends on Ustream, and let them know when you are broadcasting.
Login to your account at Ustream.
Click on your username (top right) which will bring you to your Dashboard Overview.
Under Account Settings, click on Facebook and Twitter.
Find the social network you would like to connect with, and click Connect.
Login with your username and password from the relevant social network, and allow or authorize Ustream to access your information from that social network.
Once you have allowed Ustream access to your social network, configure your settings if needed.
Only one Ustream username may be created per e-mail address. If you choose to deactivate your username, you will need to disassociate your e-mail address from the account in your Account Settings.
To do this:
1. Login to your account at Ustream.tv
2. Click your username in the top right corner to bring you to your user dashboard.
3. Click Account Settings in the navigation in the left hand column.
4. Change your email address.
5. Click Save.
If you do not disassociate the e-mail address, you will not be able to use the same address to create a new account.
There is a workaround available. You can use the same email address again if you modify it slightly. Type your email address, but in the part before the @ use +something. For example. myname@gmail.com becomes myname+1@gmail.com or myname+ustream@gmail.com
This will allow you to use the same email address for a second account.
If you have forgotten your password, please visit http://www.ustream.tv/forgot-password
Enter your username or e-mail address and the password verification code email will be sent to you. If you do not receive that e-mail, please make sure to check all of your spam and bulk folders.
If you do not receive the verification code e-mail, be sure to check your spam and bulk folders in the e-mail account used to register your account with Ustream. If you do not see any e-mail, your username is most likely associated with a different e-mail address. If you received multiple verification codes, use the most recent one.
If your verification code does not work, try clearing your cache and cookies. Please note that you must use the code within 24 hours of receipt. Verification codes are case-sensitive and hitting "Enter" more than once to submit your code will disrupt the process.
If the issue persists, please visit our Support Center for assistance. You can open a support ticket and include:
To upload a photo (or logo) to your profile (different than a show picture) simply log in to your account, hover over your username and select "Go to Dashboard".
