Interacting on Ustream

Social Stream integration.

What if I Get Harassed by Someone in the Chat or Social Stream?

If you are being harrased, recieve spam, or see links to pirated content posted by someone in the chat or social stream, please notify the broadcaster of that channel and ask them to kick/ban that user, or remove their comments.  Moderating chat or social stream is left up to the discretion of the broadcaster and/or moderators of a that channel.

Sending a Private Message

You can either leave a comment for the broadcaster directly on their channel page, or you can send them a private message in the chat room by clicking on their name and choosing ‘private message.’

Leaving Comments for Broadcasters

To leave a comment for a broadcaster, go to their channel page, scroll down below their player and enter a comment in the comment box. Note: You must be logged on in order to leave a comment, and you can only leave two comments per channel per day.

Using Chat and Social Stream

The chat room allows anyone with a Ustream account to participate. The Social Stream allows users to log into their Twitter accounts from the Ustream channel page.

If users don’t have a Twitter account, they can view the social stream but won’t be able to send Tweets. Broadcasters and viewers alike can use the Social Stream, and the feature allows users to Tweet questions to the broadcaster and will automatically generate a link back to the Ustream show page. Broadcasters can display both chat and the social stream features or one but not the other.

Broadcasters can change this setting under “Chat” (after logging in and clicking on "Go To Dashboard). Pick the channel (that you want to change the chat and social stream settings) and manage your chat/ social stream settings. To use the Ustream chat, you will need to sign up for a Ustream account and log in.

Note: You must be logged on in order to participate in the chat room. If you are not logged on, you will still be able to view the chat, but not be able to chat within the room.
