Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder (FMLE), Tricaster, or Other Encoders

To stream to your Ustream channel from encoding programs such as:

  • Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder (FMLE)
  • NewTek TriCaster
  • Wirecast
  • Kulabyte
  • Digitial Rapids
  • ViewCast
  • Elemental
  • Cisco Media Processor (formerly Inlet Spinnaker)

Obtaining the RTMP Address and Stream name for your Ustream Channel.

  1. Login to your account at Ustream.tv

  2. Click your username in the top right and choose Go to Dashboard from the drop down

  3. Click on the more link under channel. If you have more than one channel, ensure you have the correct channel selected by using the drop down next to the word channel.

  4. Click on Remote

  5. Copy the RTMP address and the streamname from the Ustream remote page.

  6. Paste these into the corresponding fields in your encoding software. These fields often have different names depending on your software.

    7. In Flash Media Live Encoder (FMLE):

    FMS URL: RTMP

    Stream: Streamname

    In Tricaster

    Under Record/ Stream Tab

    Location: RTMP

    Stream ID: Streamname

To record your stream and interact with your viewers, click the button that says Launch Remote Console.

  1. In the remote menu choose your channel or event and click on Launch Remote Console


  2. In the remote console use the Button to start and stop recordings on your channel.


  3. Use the chat tab to moderate your social stream and chat and update your status above the social stream.
